It's Whale season

Guest onboard on Monday 29 April were treated to not only a fantastic day of Shark Cage Diving with 6 Great Whites, they were also the firsts to spot a whale for season 2013! Each year from May through to October we encounter Southern Right and Humpback whales on their annual migration to escape the cold waters of winter. If you are onboard during these trips and spot a whale before our keen eyed crew do, please let us know so we can stop for a closer look and the opportunity to grab some fantastic photos!

Strong Shark Sightings

After a brief absence in March 2013, the Great White Sharks are back. and in good numbers! Over the past 3 years, April has maintained 100% sighting success. As the water cools down, the sharks get BIGGER. We are continuing to see good numbers and there are some BIG sharks around too!

One of these sharks is nicknamed 'Kinky' easily distinguished by the kink in his dorsal fin, as shown here to the right. At over 5m he is one of the big boys of the Neptune Islands and 2013 is the 8th year in a row that he has visited. Kinky has been tagged for the CSIRO and with a receiving station located at the islands, 'Kinky' sends us an email when he visits.

Swim with the

Sea Lions

Following an extension and a complete refurbishment our

fantastic vessel, MV Calypso Star I, is back in action and ready

to whiz you out to the playground of the ocean puppies to enjoy

our Swim with the Sea Lions tour.

She was a magnificent vessel before and she is now bigger,

better, faster and safer!

Meet Gregory

He is our amazing new fibreglass display Great White Shark. 

He recently featured in the Port Lincoln Tunarama parade with

Miss Calypso Star Charter, Shelley Fiegert.

Keep a look out as he will swimming around Port Lincoln on

display over the coming months. 

So stop by and have your photo taken with him.
