| Andrew loves welcoming guests aboard for adventures to the Neptune Islands for a face to face encounter with the majestic Great White Shark.
He has hundreds of cage dives to his name and has a passion for filming in the cage allowing guests to take home ‘proof’ to show their family and friends of the unforgettable experience with Great White Sharks. Andrew is excited about the future tourism prospects for Port Lincoln and looks forward to seeing more visitors in this magic part of Australia.
In 2008, Andrew received a Tourism Award Commendation in the SA Great Regional Awards.

Kirby Harvey - Marketing Manager
Kirby was born and raised in Port Lincoln and educated at the Port Lincoln Primary School & Port Lincoln High School for her senior years. Throughout her Schooling Kirby took part in Student Representative Council and House Captain Leadership Roles. Kirby was enthusiastic to start her working career with a full time position offered to her at Truscott's Hi Fi, a well known local business. Kirby managed the Telecommunication Department for 2.5 years which was a very demanding and busy role. Every moment at Truscott's was well enjoyed, meeting an exceptional amount of Port Lincoln residents. Kirby then applied for a position as an Advertising Consultant at the Eyre Peninsula Radio dealing with the large portfolio of local businesses and ensuring their advertising needs were met. Kirby was then offered a position at Calypso Star Charters early in 2008, starting her employment with an unforgettable trip to the Neptune Islands and finding out she didn't have the sea legs she thought she had! Attracting guests from all around the world, Kirby has a busy job keeping up with marketing to our adventure seekers.
Travelling within Australia, promoting Calypso Star Charters in her 'JAWS' Shark Car sure attracts attention, and works as a prime advertising tool for the business. James Mesecke - Deck Hand & Engineer
James was born and raised in Port Lincoln and first started fishing when he was 15. Over the past 10 years James has worked in the prawn, tuna, shark, sand and blue swimmer crab industries.
James moved to Wallaroo at the age of 15 and worked on a local prawn trawler for 4 years. Whilst also working the blue swimmer crabs. He switched to the blue swimmer crabs full time and 7 years later moved back to Port Lincoln. James went straight back into the sand crabs for a short time then decided to take a job on the land, working at the Fresh Fish Factory where he learnt to process and became head filleter in a short time.
Three years as a processor then James found himself looking to get back on the water and working with boats again. James has a great love and passion for boats and the sea and it wasn't long before he found himself working with Great White Sharks and the team at Calypso Star Charters. |

Simon James - Relief Captain & Engineer
Simon was born and raised in Kadina on the Yorke Peninsula and since very young has had a keen interest in anything to do with boats, fishing and the sea.
He has lived in Port Lincoln with his wife Kylie since 1997, and now with their two young boys, enjoys all the Eyre Peninsula has to offer including the terrific recreational fishing.
Simon works primarily in the Spencer Gulf Prawn Fishing Industry which is a seasonal fishery, allowing him to be involved in other fisheries during the “Off Season”. He has been a part of the Calypso Star Charters team since 2006 as a part-time skipper.
Simon enjoys meeting the wide range of people drawn to dive with Great White Sharks and gets a real kick out of the experience of showing people these amazing creatures. |

Harry Hunter - Deckhand
Harry is an Eyre Peninsula local, born in Elliston on the wild West Coast. Growing up on the beach front Harry has developed intensive fishing and boating skills.
A keen surfer Harry is at home in the waves of the Southern Ocean. He enjoys surfing the waves from Port Lincoln and further up the coast. When the waves aren’t breaking Harry likes to fish for whiting, snapper and squid.
An experienced boat man Harry has grown up using small dinghies to large power boats to access the fishing grounds. Since leaving school Harry has worked on various fishing boats and in the building industry.
As a surfer Harry has developed a deep respect for the Great White Shark. Working on the ‘MV Calypso Star’ Harry is confronting surfers and divers greatest fear. |

John Oliver- Relief Skipper / Engineer
John has always had a passion for the water, leaving his home town of Adelaide and moving to Port Lincoln at 16 years old. John has been involved in the tuna fishing industry for the past 14 years and has vast experience on the water, skippering and engineering. John decided he needed a sea change and ventured to the Sunshine Coast taking people on adrenalin pumping jet-ski tours. In 2008 decided to take a new journey and join the tourism industry accepting a job engineering the ferry between Lucky Bay and Wallaroo. John looks forward to meeting you all onboard the luxurious Calypso Star! |

Lana Casserley - Hostess
Lana has recently moved to Port Lincoln from Kangaroo Island where she was working for National Parks at Seal Bay Conservation Park and Kelly Hill Caves. Lana has always been passionate about Australian fauna and flora. Her flair for eco tourism was enhanced by her numerous close encounters at Seal Bay.
Lana has always had a love of the ocean and the outdoors; the unprecedented encounter of interacting face-to-face with the world’s greatest predator is an experience that she simply can’t wait to share with passengers of Calypso Star Charters.
Lana has a warm, inviting personality; as a hostess, her aim is to cater to the needs of the passengers on the Shark Cage Diving voyages. Lana is very easy going, and with her laid back approach, is able to strike up conversation with even the most reserved of people. |

Brooke Giles - Relief Hostess / Cleaner
Brooke was raised in Port Lincoln and ever since a young girl Brooke has always had a keen interest in diving and the treasures the ocean had to offer.
After schooling in Port Lincoln Brooke took to travelling, and went to various destinations around the world and Australia.
Brooke returned to her home town 6 years ago to work for the family business Port Lincoln Gourmet Meats, Many Port Lincoln locals would know her face. Although she enjoyed butchering she followed her real passion the sea, to find herself working for Calypso Star Charters. You will find Brooke in the office, but from time to time she graces the boat wit her presence as a hostess with her bright and bubbly personality.
One of Brooke's lifetime goals is to dive with as many species of sharks as she can! Brooke is always happy to share her experiences and hear about others! |

Quentin Theodore - Deckhand
Quentin was born in Cairns and moved to Port Lincoln when he was 10 years old; He did his schooling at StJosephs School .After finishing school Quentin started a traineeship on Wild Catch a well known fishing vessel. The skipper eventually sold the vessel so Quentin ventured to Tony’s Tuna to finish his traineeship. After finishing the traineeship Quentin had a career change and decided to start work as a contract fencer. After 3 years of fencing Quentin decided to follow his passion and work back on the water when he took up a position with a Coffin Bay Oyster Farmer for 4 years. Quentin got itchy feet and decided to leave his home town of Port Lincoln and tour across to NSW where he drove a whale watching and fishing charter vessel for 6 months before moving back to Port Lincoln. Quentin then started his position with Calypso Star in early 2010; Quentin thoroughly enjoys his position with Calypso Star and looks forward to meeting you all onboard in the near future! |

Nicol Tipping - Relief Hostess
Nicol was born and raised in Adelaide and has recently moved to Port Lincoln in 2009. Nicol has travelled to many locations overseas including, USA, UK, Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, South Pacific islands, Bali, Hawaii and New Zealand.
Most of her working life has been in the motor vehicle industry in Adelaide and has since moved to Port Lincoln for a sea change and to enjoy the life style that the Eyre Peninsula has to offer.
Originally Nicol was a passenger on board the Calypso Star in April 2008 and dived with the Great White Sharks and thought it was a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyed Port Lincoln. She feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to work on board the Calypso Star and welcome other travellers to experience these wonderful creatures. |
